Kolkata, February 23

Srei Advisory, an outfit of Srei Infrastructure Finance, has signed an agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government to develop Agra into an iconic tourist-cum-holiday destination.

As a part of the agreement, Srei Advisory will accentuate the city’s historical, cultural and heritage contours, promote lesser known monuments and temples, and expand tourists’ focal point from Taj Mahal to all the three World Heritage sites in the city, said a press statement issued by Srei.

The proposal is expected to attract investments of around ₹25,000 crore to the State. The project is expected to commence operations in 2018-19, subject to necessary statutory approvals and clearances.

It aims to create necessary infrastructure in hospitality, transport, city and river-front beautification, logistic parks and warehousing.

Srei Advisory will assist the State government and its agencies in mobilising resources and catalysing investments for the creation of necessary infrastructure.
