Pune: The medical board of the state-run Sassoon General Hospital on Friday confirmed that developer D S Kulkarni was fit enough to undergo police questioning.
The 10-member board collectively endorsed his fitness after clinically examining him and conducting some diagnostic tests. This was the second time in three days that the board reviewed his health.
“The board found him medically fit to undergo police questioning in view of his ‘present’ health condition,” said Ajay Chandanwale, the dean of Sassoon General Hospital and B J Medical College
Chandanwale said, “As he is a known patient of diabetes and hypertension, the board has stated in its report that his blood pressure and blood sugar levels need to be monitored regularly. The board has also advised the police to take due precautions so that he does not deliberately indulge in self-harm.”
Kulkarni, also known as
DSK, fell unconscious in the police lock-up and was admitted to the Sassoon General Hospital during wee hours on Sunday (February18). Later, his lawyer sought legal permission to shift him to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital the same day.
According to the court directive, Kulkarni appeared before the Sassoon General Hospital’s medical board on Tuesday (February 20) for assessment of his health.
After examining him, the board had then confirmed that he suffered a minor stroke or “tiny acute infarct” and decided to review his condition again on Friday.
