By claiming infiltration into Assam continues, Rawat has questioned BSF which mans the international border, Ajmal contended.
Army chief General Bipin Rawat has brought dishonour to his post by making a political comment, All India United Democratic Front chief Badruddin Ajmal has said.

Speaking at a seminar in New Delhi on Wednesday, Rawat had said “AIUDF has grown faster than BJP. When we compare Jan Sangh, which had two members of Parliament, and where they have reached, AIUDF is moving at a faster pace in Assam. We will have to take a call on what will be the state of Assam...”

As supreme commander of the armed forces, President Ramnath Kovind must take note of Rawat’s remark, Ajmal said. “It is not the Army chief’s duty to monitor rise and fall of a political party. He has over-stepped his domain. AIUDF is not a party of Muslims. In every election, we field 25-30 Hindu brothers as candidates. Our party is democratic and secular, working within the framework of the Indian Constitution, and our victories are made possible by voters registered with the Election Commission of India,” Ajmal said.

By claiming infiltration into Assam continues, Rawat has questioned BSF which mans the international border, Ajmal contended.

“Rawat is misinformed. If required, I will go and meet him.”
