Bombings and fighting in Syria will likely continue as the United Nations failed to impose a cease-fire. The U.N.
Security Council didn't even bring the resolution up for a vote.
That's because Russia, a strong ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, vowed to veto the measure.
That news comes as more people have been reportedly added to the long and ever-growing list of dead civilians caught in the crossfire between regime warplanes and rebel combatants.
The last area held by armed opposition, a suburb of the capital Damascus called Eastern Ghouta, has seen a rapid escalation of fighting in recent days as it seems Assad's forces are pushing to snuff out the rebellion.
