Swachchh Survekshan 2018 Kicks-off at Chas

A three-member team entrusted with the task of assessing the level of cleanliness in the city as part of Swachchh Survekshan 2018, were arrived in Chas and initiated verification of the relevant documents.

Team of observers led by Senior Field Assessor Sulal Kumar, Subashis Parinda and Amresh Kumar are associated with the Hyderabad-based Data Arrangement Services Group of Karvy Infrastructure Private Limited rushed at Chas.

The survey team was welcomed by CMC Mayor Bholu Paswan, Deputy Mayor Avinash Kumar and Executive Engineer JP Yadav. Following a discussion with CMC officials, the team of observers perused documents related to the initiatives taken up by the civic body for improving solid waste management, public toilets, e-toilets, including other measures.

The team will conduct the survey in six steps. They will analyse the data provided by the Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC) related with sanitation and cleanliness work that was undertaken in the areas under their jurisdiction, informed a CMC official.

It is a survey that evaluates and ranks cities based on cleanliness and other aspects of urban sanitation.

Under this survey, the city will be ranked based on 71 sanitation-related parameters with different weightages for a total of 4,000 marks. The distribution of weightage for the 2018 survey is 1400 marks for municipal bodies’ data, 1200 marks for direct observation and 1400 marks for direct citizen feedback, informed the official.

“We are working hard to keep the city clean and green. Last year CMC got Clean City Award; ranked 41th position in the entire country for cleanliness. Chas also declared the second cleanest city in eastern India and the cleanest city of Jharkhand. Hope we will get top rank in the survey,” said CMC Mayor Bholu Paswan.
