U Sammilani observes Bhanj Deo death anniv 

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal Sammilani observed its first president Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanj Deo’s death anniversary and paid floral tributes at his statue at Power House Square here on Thursday. Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma presided over the meeting. Former Assembly Speaker Sarat Kumar Kar, Sammilani senior member Dr Dwarikanath Mohanty, VP Nirakar Mahalik, secretary Akuli Sangram Sethi, joint secretary Ashok Kumar Paltasingh and Basanti Tripathy, Shiba Prasad Mishra, Akhaya Jethi, Ajay Kanungo, Ketra Mohan Nayak, Subrat Mohapatra and Prahalad Mishra were also present. 

CP holds blood donation camp

Bhubaneswar: A blood donation camp was held at the Gandhi Engineering College at Janla in association with the Regional Branch of Indian Red Cross Society of Commissionerate Police (CP) on Thursday. In the camp about 70 units of blood were collected. The camp was inaugurated by Gandhi Engineering College CGM Santosh Kumar Panda in presence of Armed Police ACP L Mohanty and Dr Ghosh of BMC. It may be mentioned here that it was the 11th blood donation camp organised by the Regional Branch and a total of 549 units of blood have been collected so far.

ECoR GM felicitates boxer Shyam Kumjar

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway General Manager Umesh Singh felicitated international boxer K Shyam Kumar at the ECoR headquarters here. Shyam Kumar won Gold Medal in the recently-concluded Asian Games Invitation International Boxing Championship held in Indonesia.

HDFC Bank’s CODE launches ‘Industry Academia’

Bhubaneswar: The HDFC Bank’s Centre of Digital Excellence (CODE) announced its association with the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Sri Sri University under the ‘Industry Academia’ initiative here on Thursday. The initiative was launched by KIIT-TBI CEO Prof Mrutyunjay Suar in presence of Sri Sri University FCMS dean Prof P Srinivas Subbarao, HDFC Bank Digital Acceleration and Innovation head Kiran Gadhari. It aims at mentoring and hand-holding fintechs and start-ups incubated in the state’s top technical and B-schools.
