In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Rahul Ajmera, CEO of IIFL Institutional Equities spoke about his reading of the market and his outlook. He was speaking from the side-lines of IIFL Enterprising India Conference.
In terms of the overall feedback that we have gathered so far from the conference on the investor side, it remains to be long-term bullish but short-term it is of cautious optimism, he said.
Over the next three-twelve months, people are going to figure out while being cautious what are their top ideas that they could include in their portfolio and potentially get out of the names that they find risks in, he added.
There is a dearth of a large scale private capex but there are green shoots here and there that are positive. There is nothing in the near-term that convinces us that there is going to be a breakout rally of any kind. People have to be cautious, said Ajmera.
We are very cautious on largecap pharmaceutical stocks because of the pricing pressures that are there, he further mentioned.
