The BJP on Wednesday demanded that the BJD tender an apology in public as it baselessly said party candidate Ashok Panigrahi had a hand in the incident of a youth throwing shoes at the Chief Minister at a election meeting held at Kumbharsahi under Gaisilet block in Bargarh district on Tuesday.
Addressing a Press meet, party vice president Sameer Mohanty said the local SDPO just reiterated the BJD spokesperson’s version that the attacker youth was employed by the BJP. However, after Padmapur IIC Dashgobant Pradhan stated that the attacker youth, Kathik Meher, is a half-mad person and has no links with any political party, the truth has come to the fore. The BJD should tender an apology as it blamed the BJP baselessly,” demanded Mohanty.
He said some BJD workers kept BJP party flags in his pocket to blame the BJP.
Among others, State Spokesperson Sajjan Sharma, Yuva Morcha national vice president Thakur Ranjit Das and Bhubaneswar district president Harekrushna Khuntia were present.
