Market Now: Sreeleathers, MTNL zoom over 10% on NSE
HCL Technologies, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tech Mahindra were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
NEW DELHI: Shares of Sreeleathers (up 14.50 per cent), Nakoda (up 12.50 per cent), Tara Jewels (up 10.84 per cent) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) (up 10.22 per cent) zoomed over 10 per cent on the NSE in morning trade on Thursday even as broader markets were in the red.

Benchmark indices opened on a weak note on Thursday, tracking a drop in the US stocks in overnight trade. Bond yields climbed in US on Wednesday after the release of minutes of the recent Fed policy meet that hinted at a faster than expected rise in interest rates.

Investors were also cautious ahead of the expiry of February series futures and options contracts later in the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 46 points down at 10,351, while BSE Sensex was 117 points down at 33,728 around 10:10 am (IST).

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

HCL Technologies, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and IndusInd Bank were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack of stocks.

On the contrary, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Asian Paints, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Hindalco Industries and Ambuja Cements were among the top losers in the Nifty50 index.
