HYDERABAD: In conjunction with Teach for India NGO, K Raheja Corp’s CSR initiative ‘Teaching Tree Carnival’ is going to be held from 10 am to 6 pm at Mindspace’s Central Recreation Garden in HITEC City tomorrow.

“Celebrating its second edition this year, the carnival’s goal is to help end education inequality. To this effect, it has tie-ups with corporates whose employees volunteer their skills and time to teach underprivileged kids. It also organises donation drives involving books, used computers, etc. which would then be distributed to the needy,” says K Raheja Corp’s AP and Telangana Director of Operations Shrawan Kumar Gone.

Apart from artefacts created by students, the carnival showcases their art and science projects, interactive games, etc. From jewellery to bags, from bookmarks to wall hangings, the event would be displaying a host of creative products for sale. Fun games such as balloon darts, spin the wheel, ping pong, ring the bottle, magic shows, dances, skits and other creative workshops would further amp up the frolic element. Some of the stalls include:

Little Math Maniacs: This stall will tap into logic, thinking and solving in a fun way with games
Comics and Cartooning: An ‘on the spot’ cartooning show and charts comprising comics Creative waste management: The stall will exhibit teamwork of students who have created bags out of old T-shirts
Artwork: A stall displaying postcards and greeting cards made by children “Teach for India volunteers bring in the artefacts, decides on its pricing, and sell them. The funds raised are utilised by the NGO for the educational requirements of kids from financially weak background,” adds Shrawan Kumar.
