4 tonnes illegal coal with tractor seized

More than 4 tonnes of illegal coal and one tractor have been seized by the police officials of Pannk-Narayanpur in the last 12 hours, police sources said.

Police in-charge Ranjit Kumar said one tractor loads of illegal coal were intercepted near Baredih Bansi forest area which was coming from Palamu.

Police said the tractor without bearing any registration number was loaded with more than 4 tonnes of illegal coal was moving very fast before getting intercepted.

But coal smugglers could managed to flee from spot after free his tractor .

Sources said that following orders from the Bokaro SP, Kartik S, the local police stations have stepped up activities to check illegal coal mining and smuggling, particularly in Nawadih and Peterwar.

Officer-in charge Ranjit Kumar confirmed the raid and investigation is on to identified the persons involved in the illegal trade.

The coal was stocked near border area of Hazaribagh after being illegally dug by the coal thieves in the area.

The dug coal was then ferried on motorbike to other parts.

A case has been lodged in this connection with Pank- Narayanpur police station, he further added.
