Vidyaa Ramkumar has been appointed chairperson of the newly constituted District Level Complaints Committee to look into sexual harassment at workplaces.
The committee had been constituted in terms of Section 6 (1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at work place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
As per the order, the committee would receive complaints of sexual harassment from establishments, where an internal complaints committee had not been constituted because of having less than 10 workers or the complaint was against the employer itself.
Members of the newly constituted body are lawyer Mary Anna Dayavathy, managing trustee of Adecom Network P. Lalidamballe, Secretary Sharon Society of Pondicherry, G. Mohan and Assistant Director of Women and Child Development S. Varalatchoumy.
Ms. Ramkumar was the Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee.
She demitted office recently.
