Former Madhya Pradesh minister and senior Congress leader Suresh Seth passed away here today after a brief illness. Seth, 86, is survived by a son and three daughters.
His wife had passed away earlier, family sources said. Seth died at a local hospital where he had been admitted for high blood pressure and age-related ailments, they said. He was popularly known as 'Sher-e-Indore' for vociferously raising issues of public interest and corruption. Seth had served as the minister for urban administration in then chief minister Arjun Singh's cabinet, and also as the Indore Mayor. Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former chief minister Digvijay Singh, former union minister Kamal Nath, senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh condoled his death.
