IIT BBS celebrates Mother Language Day

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar celebrated the Mother Language Day, a day dedicated to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism, here on Wednesday.

Eminent writer and poet Prof Soubhagya Kumar Mishra attended as chief guest and emphasised on maintaining the cultural heritage of India by giving respect to the Mother Tongue.  

IIT Bhubaneswar Director Prof RV Rajakumar reiterated the rich linguistic diversity of the country and called upon the audience to feel proud of our own Mother Tongue to maintain the tradition.

IIT Bhubaneswar Registrar Debaraj Rath, Assistant Registrar Dr SN Routray, students, staff and faculty members were present. An Odissi dance was also showcased by a local dance group Sangeeta.
