ClinicTracker EHR’s fully integrated Patient Portal offers advanced access and security features.
Syracuse, New York (PRWEB) February 22, 2018
Because patient portals have become a critical element of modern healthcare delivery, mental health and substance abuse agencies are striving to get their patients to use these online services. Among other benefits, portal access allows individuals to take a more active role in managing their own healthcare needs. It also can save everyone time and improve patient satisfaction.
Used by mental health and substance abuse professionals nationwide, ClinicTracker EHR has upgraded its fully integrated Patient Portal to improve access and security features. The Patient Portal already permits individuals to access personal medical information, receive lab results, email providers, make payments, schedule appointments, and more.
The Portal also offers a method for allowing authorized representatives to access a patient’s information online. Authorized representatives could be family members, caregivers, probation officers, caseworkers, or medical professionals. With this most recent upgrade, providers can give authorized representatives full access to the patient’s portal or, alternatively, limit access to certain categories of information (for example, access to open invoices, but not session notes).
Clinicians can also use the Portal to send forms to patients and/or authorized representatives for completion. For example, a provider might send a questionnaire to an adolescent patient, but also to his mother’s authorized representative account so that parent and child can work together on the form. The system also can handle situations that require control over how forms are disseminated. That same clinician might want to send a form to a client and her divorced parents in such a way that the parents are unable to see each other’s responses. It’s another way that the ClinicTracker EHR can improve the quality of care while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
“These new enhancements to the Patient Portal demonstrate our longstanding commitment to helping our customers keep up with innovations in the behavioral health arena,” said Joshua Gordon, president of ClinicTracker. “It is also another way we allow providers total control over who sees what information. We call that ‘differential access.’ Our users call it ‘peace of mind.’”
