Supreme Court
New Delhi:
Sharma mentioned the matter before the top court three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud, and submitted to it that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be made as an independent probe agency.
The top court, after hearing the mentioning by the lawyer, said, "we would hear the matter after the Holi vacation, after March 5."
Sharma claimed and mentioned before the apex court that due to the alleged political interference, the CBI could not function as an independent probe agency.
He claimed and mentioned that there were many cases in which due to the alleged political interference, the CBI could not act and efficiently work as an independent probe agency and thereby, it should be made an independent investigating agency.
