15-year-old student slaps woman teacher, thrashed by other students later

SURAT: A 50-year-old woman school teacher was allegedly slapped by a class IX student in one of the oldest schools of city Sir J J English School in Shahpore area on Wednesday. The issue came to light on Thursday when the student got admitted in hospital alleging that he was thrashed by a group of students in school after he slapped the teacher. The woman teacher sustained injuries on face.

Hasumati Sarang, a teacher of Physical Training and Gujarati language, was allegedly slapped by a 15-year-old student. Due to the slap the teacher’s spectacles broke and she sustained injuries on face. The incident took place in school premises and soon other students and teachers came to the spot. It still remains a mystery that in what condition the teacher was slapped by the student.


"The school teacher was bleeding on face due to injuries after being slapped. She is in deep shock and our staff is also worried after the incident,” said Himanshu Parekh, the school principal.


Meanwhile, the student and his parents have alleged that he was being harassed by the woman teacher after which he slapped her. Later the teacher allegedly provoked other students to thrash him. The student got admitted in a hospital with complaint of injury due to thrashing by other students.
