BHUBANESWAR: Three suitcases full of black money have been kept in the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell. The money is meant to lure voters in the Bijepur by- poll, alleged the State BJP to the State Chief Electoral Officer and demanded raids to be conducted to seize the money and action taken as per law.
The BJP the three suitcases were brought in a Mitsubishi Pajero and kept in the CM’s Grievance Cell. The room’s keys are with Chief Minister’s Principal Private Secretary V Kartikeyan Pandian.
An administrative official using money in the elections is a criminal offence. Flouting the model code of conduct, the huge amount of money would be used in the Bijepur by-poll to lure the voters, said BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma. Among others, State vice president Sameer Mohanty, spokesperson Dilip Mohanty and Yuva Morcha nation vice-president Ranjit Das Thakur were present.
