BJP member Devjibhai Patel raised the issue of industrial pollution and its impact on water resources and air at his constituency Dharsiwa in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday.
Patel while raising the issue through a calling attention said that the people of the constituency are suffering from skin and respiratory problems due to pollution , he said
Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat said the pollution levels in the region were within the prescribed standards while assuring the House that pollution generated by industrial units would never be tolerated.
Citing Lab reports, the Minister said tests were being carried out to check water pollution which were found within parameters, he said.
Patel later alleged that the test reports of the pollution were from the government labs and were not credible and a private Lab must test pollution levels.
The Minister agreed to the demand of the member to get the pollution level checked by a Private Lab.
