Old Honda Accord Gets Tesla Electric Motor, Becomes The Teslonda

It was only natural that someone, somewhere, would eventually drop a Tesla motor into an old car.

Meet Teslonda – a very special project of Jimmy Bullet, an enthusiast that tuned a first generation Honda Accord to the extreme. The aging sedan welcomed an electric motor made by Elon Musk’s company, and the battery pack from the Chevrolet Volt.

The car features other work, such as the new suspension that turns it into an off-roader, and probably a lot more that we don’t know about. The result? Why, that would be 2.7 seconds needed for the 0 to 60mph (0-96km/h) acceleration, which is basically hypercar territory.

However, its creator estimates that under the right circumstances, 2.5 sec are possible, given that the asphalt, tires, and battery were all cold during the test run.

We reckon that we will see more of this very special Honda Accord EV in the future, perhaps unleashed on the drag strip, but until then, let’s check out the videos that follow to see just how insane such a ride actually is.

yep that’s where we’re going soon. Full size remote control cars. Unfortunately people want them to also be able to drive themselves with no humans what so ever.
