Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha today said there are no plans to merge BSNL and MTNL. He, however, asserted that the strategic plan outlined for promoting synergy among state-owned telecom firms will strengthen and benefit both the organisations.
The Minister was speaking after releasing the strategic plan to bring synergy among the Public Sector Undertakings of Department of Telecommunications in New Delhi.
Mr Sinha said, synergy will leverage individual strengths to create a multiplier effect on the collective capability of the PSUs of the Department. He said, the synergy will also address various business opportunities arising in the country for better future.
The strategic plan to synergize PSUs aims at rationalizing human resources, pooling of training capacity, optimum utilization of land and buildings and settlement of legal issues to promote Make in India.
