Close on the heels of Karnataka’s decision to appeal the Supreme Court decision to form Cauvery Management Board (CMB), Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday chaired a meeting with a high-level delegation that included Cauvery Technical Committee chairman R Subramanian and Law Minister CV Shanmugam.

Sources said the CM wanted the state’s counsel to prepare necessary arguments to highlight the need to form the CMB and to detail its impact on the distressed Delta farmers who rely on Cauvery water for irrigation. Advocate General Vijay Narayan, Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and PWD Secretary SK Prabhakar were also present at the meeting.
EPS launches infra-projects
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami launched a host of infra-projects of Registration department, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC), and Health department, through videoconferencing from the Secretariat on Tuesday.
For the Civil Supplies Corporation, Palaniswami inaugurated a total of 15 warehouses, located in Nagapattinam, Vellore, Nagapattinam and Erode. He also opened integrated registration office building and sub-registrar offices in Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram, and Cuddalore.
