Bicholim: Three minor girls from Bicholim, who ran away from their homes on Wednesday evening after one of them was scolded by her parents, returned to their hometown on Thursday morning and were handed over to their families by Bicholim police.

“One of the girls was scolded by her parents for misbehaviour. However, the girl could not tolerate this and left her home in the evening without informing her family. She, later, met two friends at Bicholim bus stand and they left for Miramar in a bus,” said a police official.

The police had been alerted by the girls’ families on Wednesday evening.

The girls stayed in the premises of a church in Panaji on Wednesday night and returned home on Thursday morning. They were identified by police at Bicholim bus stand. Police subsequently handed over the girls to their parents’custody.
