NIOS registered teachers to get principal’s approval till Feb 28

The teachers who have got registered for Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) in the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) but have not got necessary verification by their Principal can now get the approval done till February 28.

The Additional Director education V S Rawat said that after the order, the NIOS would reopen the window of Principal’s verification till February 28. However this facility would only be for the teachers already registered under NIOS portal but not have been confirmed for admission.

The education department was flooded with requests from many candidates that they were not able to deposit fees or get the necessary verification from the Principal within the stipulated time.

More than 41000 primary school teachers of government and private schools have got them registered for DElEd with the NIOS for its six month bridge course. However many of them were not be able to get the requisite clearance from their Principal.The new relaxation of time offered by the NIOS would benefit these candidates.

Recently the HRD ministry had directed that the teachers teaching primary students should compulsorily have the DElEd by March 2019 failing which they would be removed from their jobs. The union government has asked the state governments to ensure that the all untrained teachers must register themselves for diploma course offered by NIOS.
