A group of hostel students on Wednesday reported that they discovered nearly 100kg of ganja hidden under their beds in cartons marked as exam question papers. They allege that it was kept there by their warden.

The students from Gayatri Junior College, was hoping for a question paper leak when they reportedly came across the contraband.

The nearly 100 kg ganja, wrapped in bundles and packed in separate cartons was placed under the students’ cots during class hours, sources said.

Student union groups staged a protest outside the college with the cartons, before the police arrived and seized the material.

The town police did not confirm the exact amount of the seizure and the source. “The college management is yet to reveal any details in the investigation,” a police official said.

Meanwhile, the warden Mr. Nagayya who reportedly transported the material into the hostel rooms, was absconding.
