The Odisha Police (OP) won the men’s championship trophy, while the Jagatsingpur women’s team won the trophy in the 6th Pravat Memorial Handball Championship held at the Keonjhar Park recently.
Keonjhar Municipality Chairman Saroj Sahoo attended as chief guest and distributed the prizes. Keonjhar Handball Association president Basant Kumar Dani presided over the function.
In the tourney, the Jharkhand men’s team lost the match to Odisha Police by 18-22 goals to end up as the runners up team. Dushmanta Jena of OP team was awarded the man of the match and Manas sahoo of Keonjhar team was declared as the best player of the tournament.
Among others, Debabrata Swain and association secretary Rithik Adhikary were present. International referee Pranay Pani, Srikant Nayak, Prakash Pradhan, Manas Singh, Tushar Kar, Sarojini Sahoo and Mamata Sahoo coordinated the programme.
