The United States has said, North Korea abruptly called off a potential meeting between its high-level delegation to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and US Vice President Mike Pence.
State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said, Pence had been ready to take the opportunity, but North Korea decided at the last minute not to go ahead with the meeting.
A senior White House official said North Korea withdrew from the proposed talks to rebuff the US' staunch policy of demanding that Pyongyang abandon its nuclear and missile programs. North Korea has made no comment on the US reports.
