Pune: The State Board HSC Examination began at over 2,000 centres across the State on Wednesday. With English being the first paper, students in the city answered the exam hassle-free. A total of 14,85,132 students wrote their HSC examination at 2,822 centres across the State.
Despite stringent measures taken by the State Board to prevent malpractices in the examination, an alleged incident of paper leak on the social media was reported in Solapur district.
The paper was reported to have been leaked within the first hour of the examination on WhatsApp. However, no board official confirmed the news. “We have sought a detailed report on the issue of the paper being leaked. Although we haven’t found anyone guilty yet, we will be lodging a case of cyber crime. If we get a confirmation, appropriate decision will be made on the matter,” Shakuntala Kale, Chairperson, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) said.
No confusion in city
The students’ admit cards didn’t have names of sub-centres, however there wasn’t any chaos on the first day of the examination. “The colleges had displayed the names of the students and the sub-centres a day before the beginning of the exam, right from the morning. The seating arrangement, too, was displayed on the notice board after 5 pm on Tuesday. Thus, I didn’t see any confused parents or students despite the rule for entry at 10:30 am being made stricter,” a parent, who came to drop her son at Sir Parshurambhau (SP) College, said.
As English is considered a relatively easy subject, students were seen relaxed before as well as after the examination. The students leaving the examination halls were seen happily discussing the upcoming papers, before meeting their parents waiting outside.
