Congress member Satyanarayan Sharma on Tuesday raised the issue of no water availability in the Anicuts on Mahanadi project in Raipur district.
The member raised the issue through a calling attention motion in which he stated that the same situation is with other Anicuts in the State.
He alleged that the quality of construction of Anicuts is poor and the matter must be investigated.
Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal in his reply said that probe could be ordered for some of the Anicuts but the situation is not same with all the Anicuts.
Congress member Umesh Patel later stated that within four years there had been 4,000 Maoist incidents and information on which the Government itself has provided in the House.
He said that he had personally thanked the Chief Minister for announcing that a CBI inquiry would be ordered into the Jheeram valley massacre incident.
The member said that why the Government does not ask the surrendered Maoists who were involved in the Jheeram valley attack as to who conspired to launch the attack.
