The eighth day of 36th foundation anniversary was marked with the scintillating performance of Bharatnatyam dance drama ‘Meera’ at Antarang Hall, Bharat Bhavan. The artists were deeply immersed in the emotions themselves, as the mystic Bharatnatyam spellbound the art lovers of the city.
The classical music and dance lovers of the city were mesmerized to watch the calm and delightful classical music followed with the splendid Bharatnatyam performance by young classical dancers of the city lead by the ace Bharatnatyam dancer Lata Singh Munshi.
The audiences enjoyed as they watched the programme. A legendry Bharatnatyam dancer Lata Singh Munshi gave performance along with her group dancers. She is a renowned dancer and has been performing in both national and international events. Lata has opened new vistas in Bharatnatyam by experimenting successfully and composing dance using well known Hindi and Urdu poetry in Hindustani Music.
The story of Meera and her love for Lord Krishna was beautifully depicted by the artists. Sometimes, it was the Krishna to took away the show and sometimes it were the artists who became one of those characters. The enraptured performance was choreographed by one of the renowned Bharatnatyam dancer Lata Singh Munshi.
The entire performance was not only about the speedy footworks and the complexity of the technique, but the zest was added with the ravishing light design.
All through the performance, the lights played the characters on stage. The innovation in light design added more charisma to the traditional dance form and giving a pleasure to audience as they watched the performance with rapt attention.
