Farmer commits suicide

A 52-year-old debt-ridden farmer committed suicide by hanging at his house in Dotikol village of Chincholi taluk in Kalaburagi district on Tuesday night. He has been identified as Hanmanth Reddy Adki.

Sources said that the farmer had done so after the procurement centre refused to purchase his red gram crop. The farmer had taken loan to the tune of Rs. 3 lakh from banks and cooperative societies.

Hanmanth Reddy is survived by his wife and a son.
