Actor Kamal Haasan Wednesday kick-started his political journey at Rameswaram. The actor-turned-politician is expected to announce the name of his political party, launch the flag and declare the agenda at a public meeting to be held at Othakadai, Madurai in the evening.

While addressing the media persons on the sidelines of a government function, Minister R B Udayakumar said that for the past 25 years we have been running a party and are implementing welfare schemes for the people. He said that due to this reason there is no work for Kamal here.

Minister R B Udayakumar was participating in the government function to distribute welfare schemes to the people at Anna Nagar in Madurai on Wednesday

He added that usually people would go to Rameswaram to wash away their sins and currently Kamal has gone to Rameswaram. As the government led by the chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is functioning effectively, AIADMK government would continue its rule for the next 100 years in the state, noted Udayakumar.
