Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal has said that people of India have the right to experience fast, safe, and convenient travel and Indian Railways is working day and night to provide it to them.
Speaking after releasing two books Bharat Wapas Patri Par and Bhartiya Rail-Desh Ki Jeevan Rekha in New Delhi today, Mr Goyal said, his Ministry is taking suggestions from all stakeholders to make the Railways better.
He said, Railway is the soul of the country as it works to connect the whole nation. He said, vacuum toilet are being attached in 500 trains as a pilot project.
He said, instead of doing patch work in train coaches during Periodic Over Hauling it will be given a totally new look, as well as a change in the interior.
These books Bharat Wapas Patri Par and Bhartiya Rail-Desh Ki Jeevan Rekha has been written by Chairman of Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and Member NITI Aayog Dr Bibek Debroy.
Member of Parliament and President of Indian Council of Cultural Relations Vinay Sahasrabuddhe was also present on the occasion.
