Plan to hike service fees dropped

MMC chief officer Johnson Fernandes’ proposal to raise the Rs 500 fee towards the issue of NOCs for new electricity and water connections to Rs 1,500, was dropped after councillors opposed it.
Another proposal that saw a heated discussion was hiking towing charges for “wrongly parked” vehicles.
