 In Syria, at least 100 civilians have been killed in an Army bombardment of the rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta.
Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitoring group said, air strikes, rocket fire and shelling on the besieged suburbs of Damascus also injured 325 people.
It said, the government forces is bombing Eastern Ghouta to pave the way for a ground offensive.
Held by rebels since 2012, Eastern Ghouta is the last opposition pocket around Damascus and President Bashar al-Assad has deployed reinforcements in an apparent concerted effort to retake it.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has demanded an end to the targeting of civilians in Syria.
UN's Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis, Panos Moumtzis said, the humanitarian situation of civilians in east Ghouta is spiraling out of control and it is imperative to end, what he termed, senseless human suffering.
