Efforts are underway to turn JK into a prime religious tourism destination

Efforts are underway to turn JKPriya Sethi, the Minister of State for Education, Tourism and Culture explained today that the government is all prepared to build up the religious places of special significance along with other tourist places and main efforts are happening to make sure that State’s enormous impending prospect in terms of pilgrim tourism is fully tapped into.

 
The Minister was talking at the inauguration of Shiva Vatika at Peerkho constructed at a cost of Rs. 47 lakh; the project was finished by Floriculture department.

 
While delivering speech on the occasion, the Minister explained that the government is working with an aim to perk up religious tourism along with providing necessary tourist amenities to all visitors who will come to pay their obeisance in different temples all over the state.

 
By mentioning different steps taken on by the Government, the Minister explained that numerous efforts including Ropeway projects, Multilevel parking, developing of Bawe, Mohmaya and Peerkho as Tri-shrines on the lines of the idea once envisaged by Jambhu Lochan of interlinking five shrines in addition to other prestigious projects in the pipeline to lure tourists and augment pilgrim tourism in the region.

 
She stated that the government is making sure of appropriate augmentation of infrastructure at religious places.

 
PeerKho shrine of this region has been an important pilgrim tourist destination as the Minister says by adding that its development will act as an incentive for the economy of the area.
