Cape Town - New vehicle sales started the year on a weak note with overall sales of 45 888, a decline of 4498 units or 8.9% from the 50 386 vehicles sold in January 2017, reports Naamsa.
Overall, out of the total 45 888 vehicles sold, an estimated 35 824 units or 78.1% represented dealer sales, an estimated 17.3% represented sales to the vehicle rental Industry, 2.7% to industry corporate fleets and 1.9% to government.

Statistics show that Gauteng (10 480), Kwa-Zulu Natal (3632) and the Western Cape (3126) lead the way in terms of vehicle sales during the first month of 2018.
