A 36-year-old man was hit by wooden sticks by his nephews after a dispute arose over water at Khanugaon under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Sunday.
Police said that the victim Ashok Pal was attacked by his nephews Ankit, Neeraj and Kallu over dispute of water logging in front of their house. The injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is reportedly stable.
A complaint was lodged by Ashok’s wife Rajkumari stating that in the evening on Sunday water supply was started during which water spilled and collected in front of her brother-in-law’s house and her nephew spotted the water they started abusing and later took wooden sticks and hit her husband injuring him severely. The victim sustained injury in his head.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 307,506 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
After the incident the three accused went absconding and are still at large. Police have intensified the search for the accused.
The crime record of the three would be investigated, police said. Meanwhile, Ashoka Garden police have booked a miscreant for assaulting and extorting money from a tea stall owner near liquor shop on Sunday.
Police said that the victim Rajesh Rai was abused, assaulted and threatened to extort money in an inebriated stated by the accused Veer Bahadur in the night on Sunday.
The victim in his complaint stated that Veer Bahadur tried to extort money and after he refused he was assaulted by the accused.
Police have registered case against accused and started investigation.
