In Gujarat, the BJP got victory in the local body polls.

The ruling party has won 44 municipalities out of 75. Congress has won 13 municipalities while other parties won 18 municipalities.

BJP had already won Jafarabad Municipality as no party fielded candidate against it.

The counting of votes for the 74 municipalities, six municipal seats and one seat of Municipal Corporation was held today.

BJP workers gathered in large numbers at Party headquarters in Gandhinagar to celebrate the victory in the local body polls.
