Tollywood’s noted comedian and veteran actor Gundu Hanumantha Rao passed away in the wee hours of Monday at his residence at Erragadda in Hyderabad with health ailments. According to reports, the actor was suffering from heart and kidney ailments and was undergoing treatment.
The actor was facing a financial crisis, following which the state government and actor Chiranjeevi came forward to help with his treatment expenses.
He has acted in nearly 400 films. He received three Nandi Awards for TV programmes. Amrutham serial brought a good name for the actor. It is known that The Telangana Government has recently extended financial support to Hanumanth Rao to meet out his health expenditure.
Many Telugu film personalities and celebrities have expressed their condolences and will visit the actor’s residence in Hyderabad today to pay respects to him. The final rites are expected to be performed today in Hyderabad and an official confirmation would soon be made. Gundu Hanumanth Rao had been receiving support from Move Artists Association (MAA) lately due to his financial situation. Recently, megastar Chiranjeevi too financially helped the comedian after learning of his hardships for his medical treatment.
