Environment and Forest Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said, global warming and climate change are the real moral issues of the country.
He was speaking at the signing of Letter of Intent with the United Nations to host World Environment Day on 5th June this year in New Delhi today.
Dr Vardhan said the focus will be no doubt plastic. He said, plastic is a serious issue and the government is committed to eradicating the menace. The Minister said India is in a hurry to handle environmental issues.
United Nations Under-Secretary-General on Environment, Erik Solheim said, UN lauds India's role in promoting Green deeds. AIR correspondent reports that India will be the global host of World Environment Day 2018. Earlier, the country hosted it in 2011.
