Market open: Sensex drops 100 pts, Nifty tests 10,400 mark

Benchmark stock indices on Monday dropped into the red, but not before notching up early gains, as index heavyweights came under selling pressure. Tata Steel, RIL, HUL and Infosys were on the backfoot. At 9.23 am, the Sensex was slightly lower by 14.53 points, or 0.04 per cent, at 33,996.23. Earlier on, it had jumped over 100 points. The Nifty slipped 19.70 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 10,432.60.
