On February 16th, which was the first day of the Chinese Dog Year, a new promotional film of Wuhan, a famous Chinese inland city, was screened on the Reuters large screen at the Times Square in New York City.
The film depicted the new image of Wuhan sending Chinese New Year wishes to the entire world.
Wuhan Tourism Development Committee planned Wuhan’s combining advertisements on eleven blockbuster big screens. The entire set of promotional videos is mainly based on the promising elements of the Year of the Dog. The video shows Wuhan’s features as a city of water for thousands of years. The most prominent 30 second main video in the middle screen starts with a red Chinese map in which Wuhan is highlighted and then shows people the Yellow Crane Tower, Wuhan University, Chu River Street and the Yangtze River Bridge along with stylish dynamic animations. The video is framed in Wuhan’s propaganda slogan “WUHAN CHINA, Meet Your Wonder.”
Wuhan official Facebook home page at Visit Wuhan will also collaborate with the offline “Chinascreen” to re-promote the videos on social media for a better understanding of Wuhan’s natural scenery, humanistic feelings and its rhythmical fashion.
Wuhan’s annual number of overseas tourists has passed more than 200 million. After its release on New York City’s Times Square, Wuhan’s promotional film attracted the attention of tourists and deepened their idea of Wuhan.
