Actor Tannaz Irani is really enjoying her current web chat show Tango with Tannaz. The actor says that the show has a very interesting story behind the title. "Whenever you think of Tannaz, you think of fun, dance, someone that is high on life. I don't need to take drugs or drinks to be high on life. When you are dancing, you are always high. We wanted to add something in the name that will go with dance, action, and fun. So, that was how we came up with the name of the chat show," she says.
The actor says that since she has spent so many years in the industry, she felt that her colleagues would open up to her, in her show. "I am a senior actress and I have worked with so many actors, directors, and producers. I am now at a stage where people are comfortable talking to me. So we thought of having a chat show, where people would talk to me. I always wanted to have my own chat show and interview a lot of celebrities, making it fun and frolic. I also want to do something like what Oprah Winfrey does, she changes people and changes their lives. I also want to make a difference in society and that's what I see myself doing in the future," she says.
The actor loves the promo of the show as well and has sung for it too. "The promo is actually interesting. It has been being complied by my friend Kishwer Merchant Rai and composed by her husband Suyyash Rai. He called me over asked me to sing and we recorded it. I had a fabulous time singing it," she says.
Tanaaz adds that the show is very different from other chat shows. "We have different kind of guests on our chat show. Normally, you get only actors on a chat show. But besides actors, we also have casting directors, choreographers, who you might have not seen on any other show. So you will see people, who are not popular on-screen, but are doing great work. They also have a very funny sense of humor and are making a difference in society in their own little way. This is the first season with 13 episodes, with all male guests and the next season will be with all female guests," she says.
Her husband actor Bakhtiyaar Irani is also part of the show. "Bakhtiyaar is also there in the show because there are segments that are very dangerous and dynamic, and as a chat show host and a mother, I was a little scared. He is the producer of the show and I asked for his help," she says, adding, "The celebrities are very comfortable and we have had a blast with this season. It’s not a sober chat show where people are scared to speak their mind."
The show is also being aired on Frogs Leheren. Talking about the association, Tanaaz says, "We talked to Frogs Lehren and they liked the program very much. We know Kabir Sadanand very well. We sold it to them because it’s an excellent platform for the show. They don’t have any other celebrity chat show on their channel."
As for acting, Tanaaz says she has become quite selective. "As an actress, I have become choosy. I want to work on those projects where I can really use my talent. Currently, I am working on a show called Partners which is on Sab TV," she says.
