Bhopal: Contractual employees’ ‘grand alliance’ gives ultimatum to govt

Bhopal: Grand alliance contractual employees association has threatened to stage massive agitation in the state capital if their genuine demands are not considered by the government by February 23. State president of the alliance- Janhit Mahagatbandhan Karmchari Sagathan MP- Shambhu Charan Dubey said the state government is neither accepting their demands nor allowing them to stage peaceful agitation in the city.

If government fails to consider our demands by February 23, we without hold agitation even if the authorities do not give us permission, said Dubey, adding that as it is against democracy not to allow any association to stage peaceful protest. Speaking about the pending demands, Dubey said they have been asking the government to consider their requests as they would benefit the contractual employees across the state, but it yet to consider them.

The association has demanded departmental examination for guest teachers instead of Vyapam conducting it. Similarly, state government had announced to constitute Depot Holder on September 17, 2008 but have not implemented it yet, informed Dubey. Trained health workers should be permitted primary treatment, a fixed honorarium of Rs 8000 per month should be provided for “Gau-Rakshaks”, he added.


Demanding rise in honorarium for Aganwardi workers, Dubey said that it should be increased from Rs 5000 to Rs 18,000, besides they should also be given Rs 5 lakh on retirement. While for the assistant Aganwadi worker, the honorarium should be increased from Rs 2500 to Rs 10,000 and Rs2 lakh on their retirement.

The association has also demanded Rs 10,000 honorarium for Asha-workers and same amount for motivators promoting institutional delivery. Currently they are being paid Rs 2000. It has asked the government to regularize the cooks at government’s Sankul schools, primary schools and also demanded Rs 10,000 monthly pay to them. All such demands should be fulfilled, otherwise, the Grand Alliance will stage massive demonstration in state capital, Dubey added.
