Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is in India, here’s where you can meet him

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in New Delhi on Saturday for an eight-day India tour from February 17 to 23. The tour aims at enhancing ties between two countries – India and Canada. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Trudeau will meet next week and are expected to focus on areas including defence, space, counter-terrorism cooperation, energy, and education. During his visit, he will meet Indian leaders from government and business sector to strengthen bilateral relations. Trudeau is accompanied by his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and children Xavier James Trudeau, Ella-Grace Margaret and Hadrien. Trudeau along with his family visited the monument of love Taj Mahal of Agra on Sunday and are expected to visit Golden Temple at Amritsar and Jama Masjid during his weeklong stay.

Ahead of Trudeau’s India tour, he tweeted, “Wheels up for India and a busy visit, focused on creating good jobs and strengthening the deep connection between the people of our two countries.”

The United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC) will host a special session with Trudeau. The Young Changemakers Conclave is a platform for changemakers, students, young professionals and entrepreneurs, and is an initiative by the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan.

As a part of the India tour, Trudeau will visit famous tourist attractions in India and is scheduled to visit Mumbai, Amritsar, New Delhi and Gujarat.

• On February 21, he will visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and will fly to Delhi the same day.
• On February 22, apart from attending the Delhi Business Forum, he will visit Jama Masjid and a cricket ground in New Delhi.
• On February 23, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will hold talks on defence, space, counter-terrorism cooperation, energy, and education.
