The climate of Uttarakhand would remain dry on Sunday though the sky would remain cloudy, said the weathermen on Saturday. The mercury is now rising in Dehradun as the minimum temperature surged up to 10 degree Celsius on Saturday. However, things is expected to turn a bit cooler as there is a forecast of rain in the plains and snow in the hills for three days from February 20.
Uttarakhand Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said that a wet spell is in the offing thanks to the approach of a fresh western disturbance. This is likely to affect the climate of the western Himalayan region from February 20 for the next three days, said Singh, adding that the mercury is likely to dip by a few notches if it rains and snows as per the forecast.
Singh said that the weather forecast for Dehradun on Sunday is mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 24 degree Celsius and 09 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.
As per the weather report sent by the Met department, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 24 degree Celsius and 10.6 degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
