Under mounting police pressure, Ajay Kumar Singh, one of the main accused in the murder of Sunil Kumar Gupta and injuring Amresh Kumar Singh, belonging to Sector IX , surrendered before the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM )N. Barla, Bokaro here on Saturday and was forwarded to judicial custody .The Harla police inspector cum in- charge Rajesh Kujur and forces was conducting raids at different places to arrest the culprit, but Ajay Kumar Singh succeeded in surrendering before the court, police sources said.
Bokaro SP Kartik S said that the day before back a police team led by O/C Rajesh Kujur arrested his wife Anjala Singh and brother Rajesh Kumar Singh from sector IX and Jaridih where Ajay Singh main culprit had left his Alto car after the shootout at sector IX on February 16 .Police also seized one carbine,3 pistols and dozen cartridges at his sector IX residence while one carbine, one pistol and 19 cartridges from his native house in Jaridih, police said.
Police said three accused were named in the case on the statement of the deceased person’s father. They informed that the killing may be the result of an illicit relationship. On the day of the incident all three or four persons were gathered near street -4 in sector IX to sort out the matter but incidentally during the discussion turned heated and Ajay Kumar Singh pulled out a pistol and shot on the head of Sunil Kumar Gupta ,who died on the spot. While other youth Amresh Kumar Singh who had allegedly in an illicit relationship was also got bullet injuries in the incident.Till Amresh Singh admitted in BGH hospital said to be out of danger.
