PANAJI: After the treatment for pancreatitis started on Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar at a private hospital in Mumbai, he is expected to return back to the state by the end of the week, South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar said.

“On the advice of his doctors, chief minister Manohar Parrikar will be continuing with the treatment for pancreatitis in Mumbai,” Sawaikar, who is also a party spokesperson said in a statement. He also added that the CM will take another six days to return to the state.

Sawaikar said that CM’s treatment is in the right direction and he is responding to the same. "However, he needs sufficient time to recover. Expert doctors are taking good care of him. We all pray for his speedy recovery,” he added.

Parrikar, who had complained of a stomach pain on Wednesday, was referred by the Goa Medical College and Hospital doctors to Mumbai. He is under the care of Dr P Jagannath, sources said.
