Modi meets ailing Manohar Parrikar at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who is admitted in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital for treatment of "mild pancreatitis".

Modi, on a day-long visit to Mumbai, took time off his scheduled engagements to meet Parrikar, who was earlier Defence Minister in the Modi Cabinet, and asked after his health.

Parrikar was admitted in the Mumbai hospital on February 15 after suffering a bout of food poisoning.

Hospital authorities clarified on Sunday that the Chief Minister is "responding well to treatment".
